Today we completed some medium to large sized overlay asphalt patch repairs at a residential apartment building in Lachlan Avenue Macquarie Park on behalf of our good friends at Service Heroes. As you can see from the pictures, the driveway and carpark areas had multiple rough asphalt areas varying in size with some areas prone to holding water. It was decided that the best course of action, which includes significant cost savings, was to fill and cover these areas with overlay patches.
Overlay Patching is where we lay asphalt over the existing asphalt. We first clean out each pothole and fill the centre with asphalt to bring it to a near flush level with the existing asphalt. We then lay a patch over the pothole and some of the surrounding asphalt to strengthen the area from further breakage. If you look at the images below you can see how these types of patches are done.
